skies in images can be tricky things due to the dynamic range or the colours in the skies. This then manifests itself in post processing and so many people make a hash of editing skies.
Remember you sometimes need to shoot with your setting determined by what is needed to keep that sky in check. You can also bracket your shot and blend them together in post processing or process them as a HDR.
