Photographing Edinburgh

Updated: Jul 16

The capital of Scotland is an amazing city to photograph. It has great transport links via rail and road. Interesting accommodation in the city centre granite properties and amazing places to eat, may be try some haggis or shortbread. The down side to the city is that its quite hilly and a lot of steps so if your mobility is restricted then it may present some issues.

  • its not too big a city

  • its close to the sea

  • its close to open countryside

It has a great range of different types of locations and is a city I have thoroughly enjoyed photographing.

Here are some of the places to look out for to get some great photo opportunities.

  • The castle

  • St Giles Cathedral

  • Holyrood

  • Scottish parliament buildings

  • Carlton Hill

  • Arthurs seat view of the city

  • Victoria street

  • Grassmarket

  • Dean Village

  • National Museum of Scotland

  • Circus lane

  • Stockbridge

  • Royal Yacht Britannia

  • The real Mary kings close
