Validation of your photography

As any artist of producer of a consumable item we all desire validation in some way and photographers are no different in this. It is a subject that crops up often when I deliver my Philosophy of photography talk to clubs. there are many ways of achieving this and often its a combination of multiple aspects.

• Membership of a body such as the RPS

• Membership of a club

• Winning club competitions

• Fiap accreditation

• Recognition from respected photographers

• Online recognition

• Delivering talks

• Sales

Personally I feel that we can get too wrapped up in these that we lose site of the most important aspects.

• we are true to our own creative drivers and don't abandon these just to please others

• we enjoy our photography
