What do you need as a photographer for your holiday?

Its getting close to that time of year again when folks are planning to go on their travels but what do you need for your trip and how can you make life easier for you and your kit?

Here is a look at some of the latest thought in answer to the question - What do you need as a photographer for your holiday?

Remember the essentials and get travel size packs of the following that can easily fit into a camera bag

  • sun block

  • hat

  • insect repellent

  • wet wipes

  • water bottle

  • first aid kit

  • power cell for your phone

  • lens cloth

  • variable nd grad

Also remember the things that you cant take onto the plane

  • solvents - lens cleaner

  • sharp objects - multitool with a blade

Additional tips

  • Pack spare batteries in individual sealable bags

  • A small lens ie 50ml will always fit in a jacket pocket if you bag is full

  • For the things you cant take in the cabin - can you pack them into the hold luggage?

  • For your tripod ensure it fits into your hand luggage when you buy it

  • If on a short trip and you want to take a camera bag but are limited to one piece of hold luggage then pack you camera bag into you hold bag and pack your clothes around you camera kit. You can always pick up small items of clothing when you are there so travel in old socks that are ready to be thrown and replace them when you get there
