Wide angle lenses are an amazing addition to a camera bag and a must for any photographer. You will need to take account of foreshortening and lens distortion but also make these two things work to your advantage, when shooting. Cropped sensor camera users get less wide angle for there buck compared to full frame shooters due to the magnification effect of the cropped sensor typically X1.5 , so a 10mm lens acts like a 15mm lens. Also remember to take into account your filter sizes when you are selecting a lens. Being wide angle the tend to let a lot of light in but irrespective of that image stabilisation is always a plus. Anything less than 11mm will tend to give you more of a fish eye image.
